How the calculation works
Your attendance is classes attended ÷ classes held. To find how many you can skip, we find the largest number of extra classes you could miss while staying at or above your college's minimum:
Classes you can skip = attended ÷ 0.75 − held, rounded down.
If you're below the line, we work out how many classes you need to attend in a row:
Classes to attend = (0.75 × held − attended) ÷ 0.25, rounded up.
Add the number of classes left in the semester to see your best possible percentage, and how many you can miss in total by the end.
Questions
Is the 75% rule per subject or overall?
At most Indian colleges it applies per subject, so one subject below 75% can stop you from sitting that exam. Check each subject separately. This calculator lets you add as many as you like.
Do labs and tutorials count?
Usually yes, but colleges count them differently. A 3-hour lab may count as one class or as three. Enter them the way your college counts them.
What if I have a medical certificate?
Many colleges let approved medical or official leave count towards attendance, up to a limit. Ask your department office early. This calculator only does the arithmetic.
Is my data stored anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Your entries are remembered on this device only, so you can come back and update them.
