What we check
Impact and numbers (35%). Do your bullets show results, like how much, how many or how fast? Bullets with outcomes (“cut costs by 18%”) score higher than bullets that only describe activity.
Action verbs (25%). Do bullets open with what you did (“Built”, “Led”) rather than “helped” or “responsible for”? Are you repeating the same opener?
Readable by screeners (20%). Is there a real text layer, are the section headings standard, and can your email and phone be found?
Length (20%). About 420–640 words for a one-page resume. Much less looks thin; much more doesn't get read.
These rules come from InternPrep AI's resume engine. The role-specific checks, like the skills a consulting or software role expects, are in the full report.
Questions
Is this an ATS score?
It checks the things applicant tracking systems and human screeners both care about: readable text, standard sections, measurable results and strong verbs. It doesn't match against a specific job. InternPrep AI does that.
Why is my score low even though my resume is good?
The most common reason is bullets without numbers. Add the result of each piece of work where you can, even an estimate ("~200 users", "3x faster").
Does it work for two-column resumes?
Mostly. Two-column layouts can read in an odd order, which can confuse real screening software too. If your score looks wrong, try pasting the text instead.
Do you keep my resume?
No. The PDF is read by your own browser and never sent to us or anyone else.
